Writing Circles

The Writing Circle offers a unique opportunity to practice Wild Writing, a process I was trained to lead by Laurie Wagner. In the circle I'll read poems and provide jump off lines which serve as entry points to inspire our own writing.

I'll read two poems and we'll have two 10 - 15 minute writing sessions during which we write freely, setting aside the everyday burden of trying to prove, improve or perform. We write continuously so we can bypass our critical voice or anything else that gets in the way of being real on the page.

After each writing period, participants take turns reading aloud. We do not comment on or critique each others’ writing; instead we honor through our deep listening. To ensure safety, we agree to respect confidentiality and not share outside of the circle. ·

What do I need to participate?

A curious and open heart. A willingness to write what’s true and show up just as you are. Pen and paper. A reliable internet connection. No prior writing experience is needed.
